While our vision is to assist all future hoteliers with a passion in the industry, we do have admission requirements to ensure that there is a good fit between applicants and the program.
The hospitality industry is a global industry and we enrol students from all over the world; since the academic material is delivered in English and students are placed in English speaking hotel work environments, applicants are expected to have a certain level of English skills.
For those interested in the industry but are concerned with their language ability, they may join our series of Hospitality English certificate program (typically 4 parts in 12 weeks, $3,600 for 156 hours) to help gain confidence in the area, especially on terminology used in the industry.
We look for individuals who are passionate about the hotel industry. Mature students who are serious about a career in the global industry would benefit most from the experience. We have accepted students from all over the world and have graduates working in more than 26 different countries.
With the Conditional Letter of Acceptance, qualified applicants may apply for government backed student loans. For more information regarding financing, visit one of the provincial or federal program sites in your respective province (BC, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island).
For international students, we are also a designated learning institute recognized by Immigration and Citizenship, Government of Canada.
In addition to the public funding, due to the track record of many of our graduates being able to obtain employment promptly upon graduation, many applicants have successfully seeked financial assistance from various business banking institutions in addition to the government loan.
The bursary also offers internal student loans and grants to qualified individuals, please get in touch with the Admissions Office if you would like additional information.
